What's New
The 2009 Annual Report
of the e-Learning Standards Advisory Council of Canada (eLSACC) has now
been published. In his message, eLSACC’s President, Robert Thivierge
underlines the fact that: “The year 2008-2009 has seen major
developments in bringing International ISO Standards (in the field of
information technologies for learning, education, and training) closer
to publication and in harmonising the work of major players in the
field of e-learning standards (e.g., Dublin Core Initiative, ADL-SCORM,
IMS Global consortium, IEEE-LOM).
This is good news for eLSACC
members and for all members of the education and training communities
that have a stake in e-learning.” He also mentions that: “Looking
ahead, eLSACC will soon reach a point where it will shift its focus
from the development of international standards to promoting and
supporting the implementation of these standards by establishing a
pan-Canadian common standard framework (CSF) to support this effort.”
That CSF will be the key component of the infrastructure needed to
support the development of a shared educational heritage of digital
learning resources.
